It lets me often think at the glorious 90s (take for example the screeching Emperor guitars in "Dawnbearer", the Dissection-like start of "Ode to the Nightsky" or the Burzum riffs in " I am the Night"), but it also has the modern energy and fresh power of bands like Winterfylleth. From zero to the top and into my annual Top 10! Favorite track: Dawnbearer.

Frank Román Formed by Waltteri Väyrynen (ParadiseLost) and Markus Vanhala (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum), I Am the Night has just released what is possibly one of the best Black Metal works of 2022. An album that drinks from big names like Emperor and Dissection. A very well written album, forged by great guitars, icy screams brought by the winds from the north. All this added to a great production with an overwhelming rhythmic sound, and an excellent winter atmosphere. Favorite track: Among the Unseen Ones.

Bart Fans of Dissection and Emperor are going to love this. Favorite track: Ode to the Nightsky.
